- 1977
He graduated from Kyushu Institute of Design and joined Design division of Toyota Motor Cooperation.
- 1983-1986
He engaged in advanced design at Calty Design Research inc. in California, USA.
- 1986-2006
He took part in designing internal and external design of vehicles at Toyota and Lexus Design studios.
- 2006
He transferred to Toyota Boshoku cooperation as a Managing Director in charge of design division and mainly engaged in mobility interior and seat fabrics.
- 2011
He established Toyota Boshoku Milan Design Branch office in Italy.
Since 2014 He has been working as a visiting professor at school of media and design, Department of Design of Nagoya University of Arts and Sciences.
Utilizing his experience, he aims to create opportunities for industry-academic cooperation, connect students with the design sites of the general public through interactive design, and connect rich ideas to reality.
He tries to expand student’s sight by using global network, conducting workshops on lectures with foreign universities, aiming for original solutions derived from with the discussions.
Using design methods such as biomimicry, he applies the characteristics of nature and living things to human life and propose designs for natural environment conservation.
