Isao Matsunaga
Emeritus Researcher, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, and President of the Geothermal Research Society of Japan: Japan
1952 born in Yamaguchi Pref.
In 1976 after finished Graduate School of Yamaguchi University, joined National Research Institute for Pollution and Resources for conducting hot dry rock geothermal energy R&D.
During 1982-1984, visiting researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory for IEA HDR Project.
During 1990-1991, joined NEDO for promoting several projects of geothermal R&D.
In 1991 after go back to the Institute, worked as a senior researcher and Group leader of Geothermal Energy, Director of research planning office, and then Director of Geo-technology Department.
After established National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in 2001, experienced several administrative works at Tsukuba and Chugoku Centers in AIST.
This year, join the Japan Prize Foundation after retired AIST.
