Reflect upon the Future of Japanese Cities and Architecture from the disaster-stricken area in Tohoku

Profile >>

After the 3.11 disaster, I have initiated the project "Home-for-All" and have called for other architects to join me in realising it.
The project aims to provide small houses for the people who have lost their homes in the Tsunami, for them to gather around, communicate and enjoy meals. Three "Home-for-All"s have already been finished, with two or three more on the way to be completed by the end of this year.

The ultimate goal of "Home-for-All" is not only to provide support for the affected people, but to address the fundamental meaning of architecture through discussions and collaborations with architects, contractors, residents and students in the process of making "Home-for-All".

Despite the project being small in scale, I think it has vital implications on the relationship between man and nature, and the importance of valuing ties between the hearts of people, bringing us closer to the future hopes of Japan.
