Akihiro Miwa

Singer/Actress/Director: Japan


He is born 1953 in Nagasaki. He learned vocal music since he was in elementary school and he started his career at 16 as a professional singer.

He started working to sing Classic music, Chanson, Tango, Latin and Jazz based in chanson cafe "Gin Paris" at Ginza,Tokyo.

His claim to fame came rather early in 1957, with a smash-hit called "Me Que Me Que".

He released "Yoitomake no Uta" as a pioneer of the singer-songwriter in Japan and he has also appeared in a number of theater, film and TV.

He also performed in many works in theater like “La Marie Vision” with Shuji Terayama and he composed with Yukio Mishima “Black Lizard “.

In recent years he voiced Hayao Miyazaki's animated film "Princess Mononoke" and "Howl's Moving Castle".

His official mobile site "News from The Lady" is started since November 2007 and more than 10 million people joined this site in an instant.

He has written over 20 books like "Resume of purple" "Life Notes" "language of flowers" and his words have encouraged a lot of people.

He appeared in 2012 the 63rd NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen and sang "Yoitomake no Uta".The six-minute long song drew great attention from all ages in Japan.
