Since 2007, Mr. Iizuka has been engaging in various design promotion projects, mainly focusing on sponsoring of Good Design Award. Fifty-eight years have elapsed this year since its first Award and today the total number of applications is as many as 3,600, which gives him a sense of great satisfaction and enthusiasm in his work.
