1985-88  Worked in MITI London
1996-98 Worked in MITI New York
1998 Retired from MITI
Oct. 1998  Executive director of Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc.
Aug. 2002 Director of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO)
Oct. 2004 Vice-chairman and executive director of New Energy Foundation
July 2007 President of Japan Institute of Design Promotion

Since 2007, Mr. Iizuka has been engaging in various design promotion projects, mainly focusing on sponsoring of Good Design Award.  Fifty-eight years have elapsed this year since its first Award and today the total number of applications is as many as 3,600, which gives him a sense of great satisfaction and enthusiasm in his work.
