Sachiko Bamba
Representative of Experienced Mother's Society / Principal of Bamba seminar: Japan
- She established a private preparatory school named “Bamba seminar” in Minami-soma city and has committed in children for 30 years.
- It was aimed to become “Character formation school” under the theme of “From parenting to studying for entrance exam.” However, the enrollment of over 100 children became nil due to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear disaster in March 2011.
- Whereas the public school system came to a standstill, she welcomed about 30 to 40 elementary, junior- and high-school students daily and provided them with free classes and free educational materials.
- She established “Experienced Mothers’ Society” and hosted, as a member of Minami-Soma city medical services reconstruction, the study sessions about the radiation problems with cooperation of The Institute of Medical Science, the University of Tokyo and Minami-soma city General Hospital.
- She addressed the creation of a system to relieve anxieties inflicting on families with small children who decided to remain in Minami Soma city and is now actively involved.
- She started operation “Smile studio” (Tokyo branch) in June and also “Angel girls” (counseling room for girls) in July this year.
