Daisuke Uehara

Daisuke is an ice sledge hockey player. As a member of the Japan Paralympic Sledge Hockey Team Daisuke played in the 2006 Paralympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy. He also contributed to Team Japan’s second-place finish at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, by scoring the game-winning goal that won the silver medal.
Daisuke’s slogan is “Let’s meet in person, talk and let me show you”, and is actively involved in popularizing ice sledge hockey as a sport for anyone, with or without disabilities. He holds workshops for youth athletes and organises sport camps for children with impairments.
In 2014, he was selected by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) as one of the top 10 ice sledge hockey players of all time despite Team Japan’s elimination from the Sochi 2014 Paralympic qualification tournaments.
From October 2016, he is working at NEC as Barrier-Overcoming Expert.
