- Universal Design in tourism
Prime Mister Abe announced his government’s intention to double the number of overseas visitors to 20 million by the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. UD views are essential in creating mechanisms that will also actively attract to the Chubu area overseas tourists gathering in Tokyo. - Universal Design in industrial development
It can be said that UD concepts in Japan have penetrated industry in a general way, particularly in major corporations. To further broaden the penetration of UD thinking in industries, we will approach small and medium-sized businesses as well as universities and other non-profit organizations and we will make efforts to further promote and deploy UD in new concentrations of industrial clusters in the Chubu area. - Universal Design for Emergency
We will reexamine responses to emergency situations from a UD viewpoint in areas such as an envisaged Nankai/Higashi Nankai earthquake and other natural disasters, terrorist threats to infrastructure and urban life functions, and other incidents and accidents including fire and power outages.
