Dhita Siauw

Curator of the photoexhibition "Somewhat more than nothing"
Project developer, Norwegian Association of the Blind and Visually impaired
Project developer and International curator, Horisont Foundation.: Norway

Dhita Siauw (35) lost parts of his vision when he was 21. In less than 6 months he went from seeing perfectly normal, to becoming partially blind.

Dhita took the challenge rather as a driving force than becoming passified.

After 3 years of traveling around the world looking for vital inspiration and alternative medication, he went back to Oslo and started his work as an entrepreneur in Oslo's cultural scene. He is now known as a producer, curator, artist and founder of many popular bars and cafes in Oslo.

Besides working as a curator and producer for events and musicfestivals, Dhita has recently started a social program in his native country, Indonesia. "Baca Indonesia!", meaning "Read Indonesia!", is a service helping poor people, visually impaired and illiterate people to read, and to inspire the Indonesian people to read more by using audio books. His goal is to establish a national audio book library in Indonesia, similar to the ones existing in Norway and other western countries. Read more about the project on www.audiosight.com.
