Invited Speakers

Mr. Narikawa was born in Tokyo in September 1952.
After graduating from the Department of Architecture at The University of Tokyo's Faculty of Engineering in 1976, he joined Tokyo Electric Power Company.
He was involved in aseismatic design of nuclear power plant buildings and development of technology for energy conservation equipment before engaging in the sale of all-electric housing.
He was deeply involved in universal design through usability study of IH cooking heaters and the development of IH cooking heater for the visually impaired based on the study.
In 2008, he joined Tokyo Electric Power Environmental Engineering Co., Inc. He currently serves as the Director of the company and General Manager of the company's Sales Department.
At IAUD, he has been the Director from 2006 when he was still with Tokyo Electric Power Company, and was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2009. He will be serving as Chair of the Executive Committee of the 3rd International Conference for Universal Design.
