Invited Speakers

Mr. Kawaguchi was born in 1950. After graduating from Kyushu Institute of Design (today's Faculty of Design, Kyushu University) in 1973, he joined Hitachi, Ltd.'s Design Center in the same year. He was appointed as Director of the Design Center in 2000 and as General Manager of Hitachi Ltd.'s Design Division in 2001. He assumed the post of Board Director and Executive General Manager of Products Planning Division of Hitachi Home & Life Solutions, Inc. in 2005 and Board Director and Executive General Manager of Products Planning Division of Hitachi Appliances Inc. in 2006. He was appointed Board Director and General Manager of the Document & Expression Auditing Office of Hitachi Appliances, Inc. in 2009, the post in which he currently serves. He was one of IAUD’s founding members and served as IAUD's first Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2003. He became Advisor for the IAUD Board of Directors in 2007, the post he currently holds. He is part-time lecturer at Nagaoka Institute of Design.
