Organizational structure    List of Directors for 2007

We promote practical researches on and the realization of universal design with the members from various fields, the advisors, and others.

The Association consists of the Board that executes the activities under the supervision of the Patron and the Chairman, and the Council that approves the activity plans and the budget submitted by the Board.
The actual activities are executed under the supervision of the Board through the working groups and the project teams organized by the committees: Theme Study Committee, Project Development Committee, Public Relations Committee, IAUD Award Planning Committee, Event Planning Committee, International Relations Committee, and Information Accessibility Committee.
(The organizational structure is that of when the Association was inaugurated in November, 2003, which may change depending on the decision by the managing body of the Association.)

Research Development Planning Division

The Research Development Planning Division is responsible for UD research development and seven projects have been established within it: Living Space PJ; Mobile Space PJ; Working Environment PJ; UD PJ for Leisure Time; UD PJ for City Environment; UD PJ for Clothing and UD PJ for Food.  Two working groups (Standardization Study WG and UD Workshop WG) have also been established across these projects.
A division head and a vice division head will be elected from among the directors. Moreover, each PJ and WG will be managed by a director, and a manager and an assistant manager elected from among its members.

Project Planning & Public Relations Division

Project Planning & Public Relations Division is responsible for planning projects based on the results of activities and disseminating them in the form of information.  Accordingly, Project Planning Group responsible for planning projects in general and Public Relations Group responsible for PR planning have been established within it.  Four sections—Promotion Planning, International Relations, Certificate & Award and Intellectual Property—have been established within the Project Planning Group. Three teams—Information Services, Publication Planning and Web Planning—have been established within the PR Planning Section.

A division head and two vice division heads are elected from among the directors. Five directors in charge share the functions of Project Planning Group and two directors in charge are assigned to the Public Relations Group.
